News this afternoon that Jermaine Beckford has completed his move to Everton on a 4 year deal after his contract ended at Leeds. This is good news for the tabloids and websites we’ve been tracking since the 25th and will give them a much needed boost in their accuracy ratings. So far in just 6 days there have been no less than 120 transfer rumours (some multiple times across multiple publications too) and thus far the only ones hitting above a 5% accuracy rating are those we haven’t collected all the rumours from yet! It’s looking like this research is going to show some pretty damning results. I don’t think there are any other updates since the last post, besides some youth players leaving various clubs, but we’re only really interested in first team squad members. Needless to say, keep an eye on our premier league confirmed transfers page for all updates.
As the Premier League summer break enters it’s most boring period – post cup finals and pre pre-season training/transfer window opening we’ll be having a shift of focus towards World Cup activities until the tournament is over. A huge amount of premier league players will be appearing in the finals, representing countries from every continent at the tournament. We’ll be testing out our ability to make podcasts for the tournament too, in preparation for next premier league seasons planned weekly podcast.
There really isn’t anything else to report on, we’ll hopefully keep coming up with ideas for top 10′s (or bottom 10′s… depends which way you look at them) to keep you entertained. Fabio Capello will announced his final 23 man England squad tomorrow so will bring you our thoughts on that once it happens. The 2 final warm up games were underwhelming to say the least, and I would struggle to pick 11 players worth taking based on their performances let alone 23. Bizarre moves like trying Lennon on the left wing didn’t really help matters yesterday against Japan of course but we’ll see what he decides soon enough.
Til then…
